Getting Organised

So,

After receiving all of my handbooks, readers and other bits and bobs.
I must admit it got a bit daunting that I had all this work ahead of me, and I needed to get myself organised.

Anddddd as any university student would I went to do my favourite kind of shopping... Stationary Shopping! (Yes I do love stationary.)

So after I grabbed all my bits and bobs I started my first task which was my study wall.
Not to worry I shall explain. I must admit I struggle with attention and reading on black and white paper doesn't sink in for me. So I went through all the handouts and highlighted important parts, which I then transformed into pages to go on my study wall.

I've done this kind of thing a few times, and I find it really helps me. You have all the information in front of you and can select a bit at a time to focus on, and once its done you can either take it down or as I like to do, strike a HUGE tick through it.

I've attached a photo so you can see the beginnings of my study wall, and believe me it is not the finished product.

First Week Back!

Hi all, So summer is officially over, and I think the weather is definitely reminding us of that! During the summer I had a lot of free time, so I was researching and planning for the year ahead, as well as going along to so many interviews for new job opportunities to help develop my career. As this was the first week back at university it was time to put my plans to practice. I must admit I have struggled having such a huge gap between modules but I am now feeling ready and replenished to give Module 3 my all! Let's get going! Skype Chat - Last Week

After a frustrating week of being unable to access my blogspot (amongst other things) I am now back! So last week, I had a Module 3 skype chat with Helen, Gonzalo, Hannah, Alisha and Eleanor. This was very helpful, as we got to talk with one another and see where we were and where we were heading. I'll be honest, it was quite quiet at times, as I find it's hard to have a conversation with people you can't actually see! But with Helens help and a little probing, once we got onto a conversation, it really started to flow. It was very useful hearing about others techniques when it comes to their tools for the inquiry. I think most, if not all of us are doing interviews, and with the fact that I have recently had to edit my inquiry's purpose (for the better) it was great to hear how others have been doing! Task 3c: Sources Of Information

The next task is focused on where we get our information from. As I have been looking through others blogs I have noticed that everyone uses a variety of sources to find the information they need. In this blog I will be telling you my sources of information and how helpful I find them to help me progress in my career. When I first looked up sources of information I found that most can be put into 3 categories: Primary Information Secondary Information Tertiary Information These are quite self explanitory but I will break them down for you. A Primary source is firsthand information about an event, for example our journals that we have all been writing. They are sources which have not been edited by a second party yet. Therefore a Secondary source is an analysation of a primary source, these include reviews, text books and even most of our blogs would be a secondary source as we analyse various pieces of information.
